ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for developing and strengthening key customer relationships, focusing on long-term growth and retention. Strategic Account Managers work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to plan, develop and strengthen these relationships to deliver tactical customer solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan, develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Develop, implement and review the customer(s) growth and sales strategy
  • Actively identify key customer(s) strategic imperatives and where / how the company can unlock and position for new business development opportunities
  • Build, sustain & expand multi-level relationships and contacts within thew customer(s)
  • Work directly with customers to build value-based solutions.
  • Manage the communication flow of the customer’s needs and contractual requirements to ensure all KPI’s and other requirements are understood and met.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and enhance visibility of operational performance.
  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure service level expectations are in accordance with agreed KPI’s
  • Build solutions supporting revenue growth, value creation and share of wallet across provision of logistics services.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports including agreed KPIs, commercial data and other agreed reporting metrics in a professional and accurate manner.
  • Participate in site based and online meetings and other activities relative to assigned portfolio.
  • Communicate significant trends, rate changes and operational methodologies to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reduce customer churn by connecting internal teams to collaborate on solutions to improve overall service delivery.
  • Promote an environment of trust and respect within the team.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key internal departments to ensure cost efficiency, safety, and timeliness in order to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Meet with Operations regularly to ensure all agreed KPI objectives are met, and relevant groups are informed of current issues and corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all the needs of assigned accounts are met including maximising revenue, minimising cost, driving continuous improvement, and increasing share of wallet.
  • Review weekly and monthly commercial data to ensure revenue capture is complete and accurate.
  • Review and improve the customer experience in relation to invoicing, billing and credits from enquiry to resolution.
  • Target reduction in credits by establishing regular tracking, root cause analysis, corrective actions and stakeholder education to reduce credits.
  • Assist accounts receivable and administration teams with rectifying any invoicing complaints and debtor management for assigned accounts.
  • Responsible and accountable for a safe working environment reporting any safety incidents or concerns to the relevant Manager or Supervisor.
  • Drive a safe work culture through the effective use of and compliance to CRM.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant OH&S requirements.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve with a structured approach
  • Commercial acumen
  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with all levels of staff and management
  • Understanding of data analytics and presentation of statistics
  • Supply chain expertise to optimise share of wallet across services
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to travel when required
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business and/or logistics or extensive industry experience
  • 15+ years relevant logistics experience, with a proven track record
