ABOUT THE ROLE

The Supply Chain and Logistics function plays a critical role in enabling the organization to reach its maximum potential by enhancing the delivery of value through supply chain, logistics, and digital procurement processes via performance enhancement efforts.  As the Supply Chain & Digital Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for spearheading data-driven initiatives to revolutionise the supply chain into a best-in-class operation. This will involve creating and championing strategies to optimise the cost efficiency of end-to-end supply chain processes, eliminating operational challenges, fostering digital transformation within procurement, and enhancing the function’s reputation as a trusted advisor. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing group-wide supply chain and logistics activities, as well as monitoring the performance of logistics service providers that support both Onshore and Offshore operations.

RESPONSBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

Supply Chain Strategy

  • Architect best practice supply chain and procurement.
  • Work closely with business assets and the technology team in alignment with our technology strategy. Architect integrated solutions through a network of partnerships and platforms
  • Assist and/or take the lead on designing, implementing and delivering end to end supply chain strategy projects
  • Take part in leadership meetings and discussions during the development of new strategies and synergies.
  • Drive supply chain excellence through initiatives and processes across Domestic Logistics (General + Condensate), International Logistics, Inventory Management, Import/Export Management and Procurement
  • Participate in efforts to improve capabilities, process & continuous improvement throughout our supply chain. Drive supply chain & procurement best practice aligned with national strategy
  • Provide timely/accurate tailored reports and presentations to the Management/EXCO team as needed
  • Be able to be seen as a lead on a large supply chain team with the opportunity to progress with management opportunities
  • Assist Supply Chain & Logistics Group with presentations and modelling as required
  • Be able to step up 2IC as required for meetings etc.

Logistics

  • Build and maintain a national logistics cost baseline across the business and assist Supply Chain & Logistics Group to manage logistics budget and costs. Drive cost reduction on the baseline through new opportunities
  • Implement and develop state of the art systems / processes to integrate logistics with procurement to drive optimal performance
  • Track projects ANZ-wide across all sites and report on status, cycle time, savings achieved and other relevant metrics
  • Meet warehouse & transport financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions
  • Create and draw connections between operational metrics from logistics providers and provide visibility through dashboards and reports
  • Manage 3PL relationships and KPI’s

Digital Procurement

  • Lead the digital transformation of current systems and processes in Supply Chain and Procurement
  • Drive best practice e-procurement and digital procurement initiatives and architect the digital strategy
  • Manage the procurement and systems workstream from the start to end, both from a content perspective (i.e. Procure-to-Pay functional design) and managing projects to build best practice digital procurement processes and solutions
  • Be the integrated business partner working closely with the internal and external stakeholders to gather information and turn data into meaningful budgeting and forecasting dashboards and continuous improvement/optimisation opportunities in the supply chain
  • Provide analysis to optimise and streamline our logistics, supply chain network and procurement operations
  • Support development and management of procurement spend analysis
  • Conduct thorough operational and statistical trend analysis to provide information to help drive decisions in order to increase supply chain efficiency
  • Utilise reporting systems to build simple and complex reports in SAP, COUPA, MS Excel and PowerBI to develop recommendations and ideate solutions
  • Compile and interpret supply chain and procurement performance metrics; analyse historical data to ascertain anomalies or opportunities

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners and drive performance through periodic KPI meetings
  • Liaising with third party warehouse & transport vendors for inventory monitoring, stock control and logistics operations
  • Assist in running an end-to-end global supply chain and logistics tender process including conducting carrier bids, analysing rates, making decisions on awards, while remaining compliant with the overall sourcing strategy
  • Manage and maintaining rate schedules, produce KPI reports and address logistics carrier-related issues across ANZ region
  • Be the go-to and manage Logistics spend on COUPA (purchasing system) for the Supply Chain & Logistics Group as required

Leadership

  • Manage end-to-end supply chain and logistics function and team members outside of the direct reporting team with best in practice and support Onshore and Offshore logistics as required
  • Lead sourcing, purchasing (buyers) and COUPA (purchasing system) team members and enable them to drive strategic initiatives through identification of better ways of working to improve processes for procure to pay
  • Provide coaching across the team on targeted capability areas (including structured problem solving, data analysis and drafting effective presentations)
  • Assist as the 2IC of the function when required

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • 8+ years’ experience in supply chain, logistics & procurement
  • Strong understanding in digital procurement and e-procurement best in class solutions
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain strategy and process
  • Strong understanding of analytics & improvement practices
  • Understanding of upstream energy industry, experience in the industry not required
  • Experience in managing process improvement projects, specifically supply chain and procurement transformation
  • Strong understanding of managing logistics service providers (3PL’s)
  • Systems thinking and business process design skills
  • Strong analytics, problem solving and facilitation skills
  • Previous experience at a management consulting firm highly favourable
  • Tertiary qualified in a technical or commercial discipline, Engineering Preferred
  • Experience in Lean/Six Sigma/business improvement projects
