Shape the future of supply chain networks across retail, FMCG, 3PL and automation-led environments

We are partnering with a specialist supply chain solutions team to appoint an experienced DC Design Consultant based in the United States (remote). This is a high-impact role focused on designing, modelling, and delivering best-in-class distribution and warehouse solutions for complex client environments.

This is not a standard operational role. It is a supply chain design and consulting position where you will solve complex logistics challenges, evaluate alternative network and warehouse configurations, and build commercially sound business cases that support major transformation decisions.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with senior stakeholders, and designing supply chain solutions that directly influence commercial outcomes — this is an opportunity to do exactly that.

About the Role

As a DC Design Consultant, you will work within a high-performing project environment to support the design and optimisation of supply chain and distribution networks for a diverse portfolio of clients across retail, FMCG, 3PL, and automation sectors.

You will combine strong analytical capability, commercial acumen, and supply chain design expertise to evaluate solution alternatives and support decision-making through structured modelling and business case development.

This role requires someone who can move seamlessly between data analysis, operational design thinking, and executive-level communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and evaluate end-to-end supply chain and distribution centre solutions
  • Develop conceptual models for warehouse, DC, and logistics network optimisation
  • Assess alternative supply chain design options based on client requirements
  • Build robust financial business cases using discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis
  • Conduct cost-to-serve, landed cost, and scenario-based modelling
  • Evaluate warehouse automation and 3PL solutions within client environments
  • Undertake detailed supply chain process assessment and improvement analysis
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables
  • Engage with senior internal and external stakeholders across project lifecycles
  • Support delivery of major supply chain transformation and implementation projects
  • Ensure alignment between operational feasibility, technical design, and commercial outcomes

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is defined by your ability to:

  • Translate complex supply chain problems into clear, executable design solutions
  • Build credible, data-driven financial models that support investment decisions
  • Deliver accurate, high-quality project outputs within agreed timelines
  • Influence senior stakeholders through clear communication and structured thinking
  • Contribute to successful delivery of large-scale supply chain transformation programs
  • Identify practical, scalable solutions that balance cost, service, and operational performance

About You

This role will suit a commercially minded supply chain professional with strong analytical and design capability. You will likely bring experience across consulting, supply chain design, logistics engineering, or automation-led environments.

You will have:

  • Experience in supply chain design, network optimisation, or logistics consulting
  • Strong background in retail, FMCG, 3PL, manufacturing, or automation sectors
  • Exposure to warehouse design, distribution network modelling, or procurement/logistics optimisation
  • Strong financial modelling capability (including DCF and cost-to-serve analysis)
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong analytical capability
  • Experience working on complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced project environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to link design decisions to business outcomes

You are likely someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working across multiple industries, and contributing to large-scale operational transformation initiatives.

Why This Role

This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where you will:

  • Work on high-impact supply chain design projects across multiple industries
  • Influence major operational and capital investment decisions
  • Develop and present solutions to senior executive stakeholders
  • Work remotely within a flexible USA-based environment
  • Be part of a specialist team focused on advanced supply chain optimisation
  • Build deep expertise in network design, automation, and logistics strategy

Location

This is a fully remote role based in the United States, with collaboration across distributed project teams and clients operating across multiple regions and time zones.

Most supply chain roles sit in one of two camps.

They’re either heavily strategic — removed from day-to-day execution — or purely operational, focused on firefighting and short-term fixes.

This role sits in the rare middle ground.

We’re partnering with a well-established FMCG/manufacturing business to appoint a Supply Chain Operations Lead — a pivotal role responsible for connecting strategy to execution across procurement, production, warehousing, inventory, and logistics.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will own operational flow, drive performance, and influence how the entire supply chain functions day to day.

It’s ideal for someone who wants visibility, accountability, and the ability to actually improve how things work — not just report on them.

Why this role exists

The business is in a strong position, with established production and distribution capability, national customer demand, and mature supply chain functions.

The opportunity now is to strengthen integration across the end-to-end supply chain — improving planning accuracy, inventory health, service performance, and operational efficiency.

This role has been created to bring ownership, structure, and pace to that environment.

You will be the person ensuring that supply, production, warehousing, and logistics are working together, not in silos, and that execution consistently matches demand.

What makes this opportunity compelling

This is a role where your impact is visible across the entire business.

You won’t be limited to one function. Instead, you will operate across the full supply chain lifecycle; from planning and procurement through to production output, inventory control, warehousing performance, and delivery outcomes.

Key highlights include:

  • Ownership of end-to-end supply chain operations (procurement, production, warehousing, logistics)
  • Direct influence on OTIF performance, service levels, and customer outcomes
  • Responsibility for inventory health, stock accuracy, and working capital efficiency
  • Active involvement in S&OP planning and execution processes
  • Opportunity to improve systems, reporting, and supply chain visibility
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Cross-functional leadership across production, warehouse, QA, and planning teams
  • Exposure to ERP systems and structured supply chain planning tools
  • A stable, established FMCG/manufacturing environment with real operational depth

This is not a theoretical planning role. It is an execution-driven leadership position where decisions translate directly into operational outcomes.

What success looks like

Success in this role will be measured by how effectively the supply chain performs as a connected system.

Within the first 6–12 months, success would typically include:

  • Improved OTIF performance and customer service reliability
  • Stronger alignment between demand planning, production, and supply execution
  • Reduced excess and obsolete inventory
  • Improved stock accuracy and inventory visibility across the network
  • More disciplined S&OP execution and planning cadence
  • Clearer reporting, dashboards, and KPI ownership across functions
  • Faster resolution of operational issues and improved escalation pathways
  • Tangible efficiency gains across warehousing, production, and logistics flows
  • Stronger cross-functional collaboration and accountability

Ultimately, success is about building a supply chain that runs with fewer surprises, better data, and stronger alignment between planning and execution.

What kind of leader will succeed here

This role will suit someone with strong end-to-end supply chain exposure who enjoys working across multiple operational areas rather than being siloed in one function.

You will likely bring experience in:

  • Supply chain management, operations leadership, or end-to-end planning roles
  • FMCG, manufacturing, or similarly fast-paced environments
  • Production, warehousing, logistics, and inventory management
  • S&OP processes and demand/supply coordination
  • KPI management including OTIF, forecast accuracy, and inventory performance
  • ERP systems and supply chain planning tools (advanced Excel capability essential)
  • Leading through influence across multiple operational stakeholders

Just as importantly, you will be someone who naturally brings structure to complexity.

You will be comfortable stepping into operational detail when needed, but equally capable of lifting conversations to performance, planning, and improvement.

This is a role for someone who doesn’t wait for alignment; they create it.

Why people consider this move

Supply chain professionals are often drawn to roles like this because they offer something many positions don’t:

Real ownership across the full system.

It’s an opportunity to step out of functional silos and into a role where you can see and improve the entire flow of goods, information, and decisions.

It also offers:

  • Broad operational scope across multiple functions
  • Strong influence over service, cost, and inventory outcomes
  • A mix of strategic planning and hands-on execution
  • Exposure to real manufacturing and FMCG supply chain complexity
  • The ability to implement improvements that are immediately felt in the business

It’s a role where capability is visible, impact is measurable, and improvement is continuous.

Location

This is an office-based role within a well-established operations and supply chain environment, working closely with production, warehouse, and logistics functions.

Interested?

If you’re an experienced supply chain professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys improving how end-to-end systems run, this is worth exploring.

We are speaking with candidates confidentially and are open to both active and passive professionals who want to understand whether this could be a meaningful next step in scope and impact.

Even if you’re not actively looking, a confidential conversation may help benchmark where your experience could take you next. Apply now or email your details directly to Stephanie Martinez.

There are operations roles where you spend your time keeping things afloat.

And then there are roles where you step in and genuinely change how the operation runs, performs, and grows.

This is the second type.

We’re partnering with a well-established business in the building products / exteriors sector to appoint a Distribution Centre Manager based on the NSW Central Coast; a role that sits at the heart of a busy, high-volume logistics operation supporting customers, trade partners, and internal sales teams.

This is not a “maintenance” leadership role. It’s a chance to take ownership of a distribution centre and actively lift it — in performance, culture, efficiency, and capability.

For the right person, it’s a rare opportunity to step into a stable business, in a resilient industry, and make a measurable impact on how the operation runs every single day.

Why this Distribution Centre Manager role exists

This DC is already operationally sound — but like many high-volume distribution environments, the opportunity now is optimisation.

The business is investing in strengthening its logistics capability, improving end-to-end efficiency, and building a stronger performance culture across warehousing, transport coordination, and inventory management.

They are looking for a leader who doesn’t just “run the site”, but actively improves it — someone who sees gaps, builds structure, develops people, and lifts performance through clear thinking and strong execution.

What makes this opportunity compelling

This is a role that offers real operational ownership without corporate overload or unnecessary layers of bureaucracy.

You will be responsible for the full end-to-end performance of the distribution centre, including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, transport coordination, inventory control, and team leadership.

But more importantly, you will have the scope to shape how the site operates.

Key highlights include:

  • Full ownership of a busy NSW Central Coast distribution centre
  • Leadership of a multi-disciplinary warehouse and logistics team
  • Direct responsibility for daily operations and long-term performance improvement
  • Strong focus on Lean principles, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Influence over cost control, efficiency gains, and service performance outcomes
  • Hands-on use of modern warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tools
  • Close collaboration with sales, customer service, and supply chain stakeholders
  • Engagement with transport carriers and external logistics partners
  • A stable, long-established business operating in a resilient, essential industry

This is the type of environment where operational leaders thrive — because results are visible, impact is immediate, and improvements are tangible.

What success looks like

Success in this role is not defined by simply “keeping the warehouse running smoothly”.

It’s about raising the standard of the operation.

Within the first 6–12 months, success would look like:

  • Improved order accuracy and dispatch reliability
  • Stronger stock integrity and inventory visibility
  • More efficient warehouse layout, space utilisation, and flow
  • Clearer KPI tracking and performance accountability across the team
  • A stronger safety culture with consistent WHSE compliance
  • Improved labour productivity and workforce engagement
  • Better alignment between warehouse, transport, and customer service teams
  • A visible shift toward continuous improvement thinking at site level

Ultimately, you will be accountable for ensuring the DC is not only operationally stable, but continuously improving in how it delivers for customers and the business.

What kind of leader will succeed here

This role will suit someone who has already led in warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments — ideally in high-volume or fast-moving operations.

You’ll likely be someone who is:

  • Experienced in DC management, warehouse leadership, or transport operations
  • Confident working with KPIs, reporting, and operational data
  • Comfortable making decisions in real-time operational environments
  • Strong in planning, prioritisation, and workforce coordination
  • Naturally hands-on, not removed from the operation
  • Capable of building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
  • Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies (or similar practical application of process improvement)
  • Commercially aware — understands how operations impact cost, service, and margin

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes ownership. Not just of outcomes, but of how those outcomes are achieved.

Why people consider this move

For many experienced DC and logistics leaders, roles like this become attractive for a few key reasons:

Stability — a long-established business in a core construction-related sector
Scope — real ownership of a site, not just a function
Influence — ability to shape systems, processes, and team performance
Balance — strong operational challenge without unnecessary corporate complexity
Impact — visible results from improvements you implement

It’s the kind of role where your decisions are felt immediately; in the warehouse, on the floor, and in customer outcomes.

Location

This role is based on the NSW Central Coast, offering a strong balance between coastal lifestyle and accessibility to Sydney and Newcastle corridors.

Interested?

If you’re an experienced distribution, warehouse, or logistics leader looking for a role where you can genuinely lift performance, not just maintain it — this is worth a conversation.

We’re speaking with candidates confidentially and welcome both active and passive professionals who want to explore what’s next.

Even if you’re not actively looking, it may be worth a confidential discussion to understand whether this could be a step forward in scope, leadership, or impact. Apply now or email Stephanie today.
