About the Role

  • Effectively manage and develop the Australia and New Zealand Quality Departments and RTIS departments, maximising profit, growth, and development by regularly reviewing and ensuring best practices are adopted.
  • Maintain and develop a close liaison with the Commercial sector of both the Australian and New Zealand businesses to ensure that future and new business meets all food safety and regulatory criterion and Company Quality Parameters
  • Maintain and develop a close liaison with the Operations Departments to ensure good quality, safe products are produced and that all manufacturing practices are compliant with all food safety certified standards the company has.
  • Ensuring all communication with customers, suppliers and authorities is done in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assessing risks of raw materials and suppliers

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • The overall quality, food safety and regulatory affairs of Australia and New Zealand.
  • Overall responsibility for both companies Quality Systems; acts with the authority of the Managing Director in matters relating to quality and food safety.
  • Provide advice and guidance to both companies, their managers, and staff on any regulatory aspects of total quality management.
  • Control of expenses within each departmental budget.
  • Provide Technical support for customers and company personnel.
  • Compilation and presentation of Senior Management Technical Report and Quality System review report

Initial Priorities:

  • Build the strength of the ANZ quality team such that it can become a valuable contributor to the business.
  • Right people in the right roles to support the business’s needs.
  • People have the right capabilities to perform their roles well and their role expectations are clear.
  • Improve the engagement of the team and in doing so create a positive work environment.
  • Work with the various people around the business to significantly improve the quality performance, as measured by right first-time production and low customer complaints.
  • In doing so, make product quality a competitive advantage in our markets.
  • Get the business to an “audit ready state” such that we can manage the various audits that are necessary in a calm and controlled way.
  • Build a much strong capability in the way that we work with our QSR customers.
  • Do so in a very complementary way with our commercial team.
  • Ensure quality issues are managed professionally and our positive relationship with customers is maintained whilst achieving suitable outcomes for the business.
  • Work with the procurement team to ensure our suppliers meet our quality expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with key people in both of our shareholders business e.g. senior quality leaders.

Authorised to:

  • Approve/reject/rework blends, raw materials, and packaging.
  • Make changes and amendments to documentation applicable to both Companies Quality Management System
  • Update BOM’s where required as it relates to the Quality Process
  • Accept/reject customer credits in relation to food quality complaints (Sales remain responsible for commercial customer credits)
  • Ensure staff comply with all aspects of the companies’ Quality Systems
  • Conduct audits on suppliers and co-manufacturers to ensure compliance to business requirements.
  • Approve/reject new suppliers.
  • Approve departmental noncapital expenditure up to $9,000.
  • Approve Quality Managers, RTIS Managers monthly expenditure.
