The company’s enduring popularity is reflected in the success of its gardening guide, first written in 1895, now recognised as a best-selling gardening book in both Australia and New Zealand.

They are currently seeking a Production Planner based in Western Sydney.

About the Role

The Production Planner is an integral member of the Supply Chain department. This role will make a strong contribution to a high performing Supply Chain team and culture within the company. The Planner develops the plan across operational activity for production in the short, medium term and understanding production constraints in order to ensure efficiency, supply levels and minimize stock holding risks.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Ensure continuous supply of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials.
  • Produce a daily plan to achieve the MPS numbers and support the Supply Chain function through maintaining stock policy, controlling SLOB cost, and balanced operational costs and yield.
  • Perform Finished Goods, Packaging and Raw Materials availability analysis constraint to daily plan
  • Understand deviations to sales forecast and action with operations team
  • Ordering of Packaging and Raw Materials to ensure business-continuity
  • Review daily FG stock projection, to escalate for supply planner issues
  • Following changeovers, ABC prioritization, stock on hold procedures, scheduled maintenance and machinery breakdowns procedures
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Managers
  • Manage Vendors transactional relationship
  • Manage and maintain MRP Master Data and Parameters in SAP
  • Identify potential short-term risks with a focus on process improvement and risk mitigation
  • Develop and execute mitigation plans to relieve and eliminate out of stock situations
  • Support initiatives that will drive reductions in cost to supply i.e., perform continuous review of Production Plan.
  • Support initiatives that drive reduction in net working capital i.e., Finished Goods & Raw Materials, by-location network & in-transit inventory optimisation through managing Min-Max, ABC/XYZ parameters for the responsible categories.
  • Meet customer service (IFOT) targets for the responsible
    categories.
  • Provide weekly communications on supply issues, IFOT impacts by performing complete root cause analysis.
  • Continuously track and optimize inventory stock holdings by-location to ensure the supply targets are met.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationship with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure own behaviours are consistent with company.
  • 100% Completion of Performance Plans and Focused Development Plans ensuring they are reviewed regularly with your manager and commitments are discussed and agreed upon.
  • Make an active contribution to the team’s environment through sharing knowledge and collaborating with others to build an engaged workplace.
  • Ensure commitment and clear understanding of company policies and procedures and adhere to them at all times.
  • Active commitment and participation to ensuring a safe workplace.

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will need to have the following skills and attributes:

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Production Planner, Supply & Material Planner / Supply Chain Planning Analyst, or related fields
  • SAP (R/3 or ECC 6.0) Supply / Purchasing / Production Planning experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced Power Point skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly organised with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under the pressure i.e., in conditions which include multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a team.

Desirable

  • Existent Supply Chain / Planning Analyst within FMCG / pharma or similar industry.
  • Demand forecasting and Inventory management skills.
