We are seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Development Manager to join a specialist property and project delivery consulting environment supporting major industrial, logistics, and supply chain developments.

This is a pivotal role responsible for driving the end-to-end property procurement and development process, working across internal teams, developers, landlords, contractors, and clients. You will act as the key coordination point ensuring that client requirements are translated into commercially viable, technically sound property solutions.

Following completion of each transaction, you will lead a structured handover into the project delivery team, ensuring continuity and alignment across the full lifecycle.

About the Role

As Development Manager, you will play a leading role in managing property acquisition, development planning, design coordination, and commercial negotiation processes across industrial property projects.

You will work closely with Property Directors, supply chain specialists, developers, and client stakeholders to ensure that each development aligns with operational, financial, and strategic requirements.

This is a highly client-facing role requiring strong communication, commercial judgement, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the property procurement process in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely with property operators and supply chain teams to define and understand client requirements
• Lead the preparation and coordination of property tender documentation
• Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules across all phases of engagement
• Ensure all key milestones are tracked, communicated, and achieved
• Maintain proactive client communication to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction
• Lead client workshops to define operational building requirements and translate them into design briefs and PPR documentation
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure building design aligns with operational needs
• Review developer proposals and conduct commercial and technical analysis of bids
• Lead negotiations relating to Letters of Intent, leases, and commercial agreements
• Provide clear, structured, and commercially sound recommendations throughout the process
• Act as subject matter expert during market surveys and RFP phases
• Maintain strong relationships with developers, landlords, clients, and internal delivery teams
• Ensure seamless handover to project services teams following transaction completion

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a client-facing property, development, construction, or consulting role
• Background in industrial property, logistics, or supply chain environments highly desirable
• Experience working with institutional developers, occupiers, or large-scale clients
• Strong commercial acumen with exposure to cost modelling, rental analysis, or feasibility assessments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong negotiation capability across commercial and lease documentation
• Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Advanced problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused mindset
• Strong presentation and workshop facilitation ability
• High attention to detail with strong analytical thinking
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project
