They are looking for a Category Manager – Directs to join their team in Pinkenba, Queensland.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To engage with business units to identify opportunities, develop and drive the annual Procurement program resulting in measurable value delivery to stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

Contract Management

  • Manage complex, high risk and spend supply contracts, focussing on:
  • With input from the business stakeholders, develop, maintain and implement procurement category plans for the assigned portfolio of categories
  • Follow a source to contract process and provide input into process improvement
  • Plan and lead supplier negotiations for key high risk/value complex categories
  • Driving targeted outcomes from team-based procurement and category management activities
  • Monitoring and managing suppler performance, and driving continuous improvement
  • Monitoring and influencing business compliance with agreements
  • Develop and implement supplier KPIs and performance measurement tools and monitor performance

Cost Reduction

  • Take a leadership role in delivering value through the establishment of agreements between the company and its suppliers within critical spend categories.
  • Use contemporary procurement processes to;
  • Develop cost minimisation opportunities with the businesses
  • Complete benefit validation process
  • Engage with business unit stakeholders and establish project teams from business unit representatives
  • Steer supplier selection processes
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Propose business cases to stakeholders, and work with the business units to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes and benefits
  • Manage relationships of significance jointly with managers in the business units to ensure that the needs of the business are met, and that future opportunities with the suppliers are developed
  • Maintain relationships with Global Procurement team and actively communicate new ideas, trends, experiences and best practice

Data Management

  • Improve master data information for complex, high risk and spend supply contracts for the business units, including;
  • Ensuring data integrity for supplier, supplier pricing and product code databases,
  • Development of efficiency improvements to minimise manual data entry practices
  • Managing the communication of supplier pricing changes across the business units
  • Risk Reduction
  • Manage and minimise any risk to the business, by;
  • Understanding and documenting areas of risk in the procurement of goods and/or services
  • The provision of data integrity
  • Utilising favourable supply agreements
  • Process Improvement
  • In conjunction with the business unit stakeholders, establish operational processes for the businesses to engage suppliers
